As we continually seek to serve people across the Himalayas, we are always in search of new places and possible ways to be carriers of hope. Our staff recently traveled for the first time to the remote district of Dolpa.
Surrounded by beautiful snow peaked mountains and home to the deepest lake in the country, Dolpa is rich in wildlife and ancient tradition that has its roots in the Tibetan culture. Despite its richness, Dolpa is one of Nepal's least developed areas with little access to roads, health facilities, education and clean drinking water. After trekking deep into the region, our team was able to build up a good rapport with the people in the community and understand more about their needs.
MountainChild seeks to expand its work in areas like Dolpa where we can serve the community and carry hope to its people in the future.
