Carrying hope through Ghap Health post
The Ghap Health Post has been serving people who live in Ghap and its neighboring villages for the past year and a half. The people now rely on the facilities and services provided there and reach out to the staff when in need. Recently, one of our health post workers encountered a challenging situation in a distant village.
A 22-year-old pregnant woman went into labor while she was home alone. After an hour of labor pain, she went out to seek help. Despite the intense pain, she managed to walk out of the house towards her neighbor’s house. However, her body could not withstand the pain, and she delivered the baby on the way and fainted immediately afterwards.
The next thing she knew, she was in her home with her baby and another lady who found her unconscious on the ground outside. However, there was a problem with the placenta, which was still inside of her. There was a serious threat to the mother’s life due to the amount of blood she had lost and was continuing to lose. They reached out to one of our health post workers who rushed to the mother’s house and successfully removed the placenta and stabilized her condition, ultimately saving her life.
This is just one example of the ways that our health post carries hope to these communities by meeting their physical need, and it is our desire to continue to serve and touch the lives of many more in the days to come.
